Educate for digital citizenship: approach to teacher competences and strategies

Digital citizenship is an essential skill in the current era, empowering individuals to participate responsibly in an evolving digital society. Hence, educational systems have the responsibility of introducing actions that guarantee the constant updating and training of teachers in digital citizenship skills. The purpose of the study is to analyze the educator's competencies and teaching strategies necessary for the formation of digital citizenship in students. It was carried out under a qualitative approach, applying the systematic literature review (SR) method. The conclusions show: the teacher must observe permanent training for technological skills and digital civic awareness in order to contribute to rights in the digital society; The main objective of digital citizenship is to strengthen the profile of the student body, being a form of literacy based on the premise aimed at promoting reflective thinking and democratic participation; The context of virtualization implies prioritizing the use of technological tools and innovative teaching strategies to guarantee maximum performance of ICT. It is essential to promote digital citizenship among educators, considering that students are digital natives in a constantly evolving society.
