Abstract

The purpose of the article is to generate a reflection on the importance of including the family in the pedagogical process of the school, who through a joint work, enables the formation of the 21st century citizen. Throughout the times, despite the school's great efforts to improve student performance, it is observed that the desired results are not yet obtained, depending on an integral formation through the appropriation of a life project with a vision. of possible and sustainable future. From this point of view, pedagogical practices become a reference for change by assuming the participation of families in and outside the classroom. It shows the experience developed in a school in the municipality of Santiago de Cali, in Colombia, where there are barriers that restrict the relationship between school and family. The results are evident in a process of sensitization and awareness of joint responsibility through a projection of initial activities that constitute antecedents to the family and school model.
