Purpose and scope

Varela Journal is an electronic publication with international coverage, peer-reviewed and edited in Spanish and English, which disseminates contributions in multiple areas of theory, practice, and research in education, including aspects of pedagogy, teaching, and training from an up-to-date perspective. These findings are aimed at teaching staff in educational institutions, scientists and academics in the field of education, social actors, and the general public interested in educational issues.
The journal seeks to bring together high-level national and international researchers who study educational phenomena from a wide variety of perspectives and contexts to publish their experiences and findings. It provides readers with access to these results in order to enrich, renew, and improve educational practice and its theoretical understanding. The journal also aims to be a forum for professional and scientific exchange, supported by its website, email, and academic and scientific networks. 

Mission 

The purpose of Varela Journal is to disseminate scientific output derived from the educational scientific activity of Cuban teachers and the Latin American and international sphere in general, in order to contribute to the current debate on educational issues.

Vision 

One of a monographic nature and another section dedicated to Research in Education, which will bring together teachers, researchers, and social actors who wish to participate in the configuration and consolidation of the Sciences of Education and which will disseminate unpublished articles related to: innovations, advanced pedagogical experiences, as well as the results of theoretical or empirical research and reviews of educational research literature.
