The Flipped Classroom model in online English teaching

Abstract

Online teaching has become an imperative need due to the social conditions derived from the current health contingency. This has led language teachers to search for effective models and methodologies to continue the learning process under such conditions. The objective of this article is to provide a theoretical approach to the flipped classroom model which, thanks to its characteristics, makes it possible for online English teaching to be more active and student-centered. It also presents information that allows the analysis of its use in the classroom as a strategy to meet current educational needs and as a reference for future applications in the area.
