This article presents the result of the research project “Family-school link in the ethical formation and values of the students of a public educational institution in Medellin” in which the objective was to describe the connection of the curriculum with the context of the students in the framework of ethical formation and values. From an Educational Action Research design, with a qualitative approach, it was established how the curriculum links everything that happens in the educational space beyond contents or courses. In this way, it is evidenced by the students, the need to have formative processes that are linked to coexistence inside and outside the classroom, always starting from their social context, which constantly poses challenges for education, since, in many occasions what is taught can be opposed to reality or to the intention of a culture of peace.
