Abstract

The article exposes the design and implementation of a virtual platform to support the process of teaching learning of the different programs and modalities studied at the Technological University of Israel of Ecuador. The results were based in an investigation carried out in this university during the period 2017-2018, which had three stages: foundation of the platform, design of the platform and evaluation in practice. The article bases and describes the dimensions and structure of a virtual learning environment and the process followed in its design and implementation. For the evaluation of the platform in practice, 2,698 students and 71 teachers of both sexes were surveyed in the 2017-2018 academic period; the use of the virtual environment and the level of satisfaction were valued. The results showed that most of the students and teachers the platform is always available, it is easy to access, it has help in the treatment of contents of the subjects. The activities that are most used in the tasks, questionnaires and lessons. The most used resources are files, links to websites, virtual library and videos on the Internet.
