Abstract

Environmental education is a way for the reconstruction of human integrity, lost in the formation of the man himself. That integrity is needed to overcome the dichotomy of society - nature, man - environment, but can be attained through a cognitive effort and material, which is important to consider the great influence of the literature. Using children's literature can develop environmental education through poetry, stories, fables, riddles, as well as morally and aesthetically prepare the child to face the difficult task of participating in the transformation of the world. The aim of this paper is to substantiate the significance of children's literature for the development of environmental education in socially disadvantaged preschool child.
