Environmental indicators in a public university of Ecuador

The incorporation of environmental indicators in a public university in Ecuador was designed in accordance with the conceptual framework for sustainable development in search of a balance between economic, social and ecological well-being. Likewise, it takes into account the different areas of intervention of recognized universities such as science and research, technology, teaching and interaction with civil society. The theoretical framework, on which it was incorporated, as well as the quality criteria used in its design, makes them suitable indicators, very useful for evaluating the contribution of universities to sustainable development. This work involves the application of environmental indicators and sustainable infrastructure at the public university of Ecuador to incorporate internationally recognized efficiency in university activities, which contribute to organizing, summarizing and developing development planning processes and environmental management.
