Abstract

This research article is part of a doctoral thesis developed at the Tourism Training Center of Villa Clara, which assumes as a research problem the professional improvement in French language of the teachers who work there. The objective of the thesis is to evaluate the professional improvement in French language of the teachers of the specialties that demand its use in the teaching-learning process. The general method used is the materialist dialectic, in addition to other theoretical methods such as document analysis and the historical-logical method. From the empirical level, the contrast and triangulation allowed contrasting the different theories and considerations assumed and determining the main theoretical cores that solidify this study. In addition, the main findings that emanate from it corroborate that professional development in French for specific purposes contributes to the better performance of the teaching staff in this type of center and to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of the specialties of professional cooking and gastronomic service in order to provide higher quality services in the tourism sector.
