This article aims to present video classes as an asynchronous tool in the teaching of Spanish at the University of Guyana, it was based on an exhaustive qualitative and quantitative analysis of the documentation available on this topic, with an exploratory, descriptive and non-experimental nature. In this study, thirty-seven research documents, theses and articles from scientific journals were analyzed, published in diverse media. The data analyzed revealed that the majority of teachers preferred a blended system, while students lean towards a 100% virtual model. In conclusion, it was determined that the incorporation of video classes as a teaching method aligns with the methodological preferences of teachers and students, which could result in benefits that include flexible access to content, improvement of linguistic skills and the convenience of studying from anywhere. These in turn will allow for a more flexible and accessible learning environment for all participants in the SPA1003 course.
