Understanding a text means that you have acquired the ability to understand its true meaning, hence reading comprehension is one of the essential topics to be taught in the subject of Language and Communication within the College of Baccalaureates. Using digital tools, such as podcasts, can help develop students' ability to understand popular science texts. This article aims to explain the possibilities offered by the design and implementation of the podcast to increase reading comprehension of popular science texts at a literal level. This work was supported by the Participatory Action method, which involved the students designing their podcasts, their scientific readings, and comprehension exercises. With the results obtained, a space opens up to continue researching the use of digital tools. It is likely that what has been discovered is a factor that encourages the use of these resources in the near future or in future research, and the data that is acquired is optimistic, because there is a lot of teaching work to be done.
