TASK-BASED APPROACH TO FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING

This article addresses the Task Based Approach and its use in foreign language teaching as a proposal to face the need to transcend traditional teaching-learning styles and responding to the demand for communication and language skills in a globalized environment. A theoretical approach is presented by giving definitions of task, explaining the stages in the methodology and its characteristics, as well as the role of the teacher and the student in this approach. This information is presented as a pedagogical strategy proposal based on the benefits of its use like the active participation of the student in the educational process and the acquisition of language through continuous practice and exposure to situations of a specific and contextualized linguistic reality. This information can be an opportunity to contribute to the resolution of the needs and demands of learning a foreign language today.
