Abstract

The teaching of contemporary world history involves a high dose of responsibility and preparation by teachers, because it is a very recent history in time and the historical processes often have to be taught and explained without having been settled by time and extensively analyzed from science. Many times you lose the boundaries between science and politics so the selection of the sources for its teaching becomes vey complex. These reasons make us reflect on how and what sources to use to teach this segment in recent history. An analysis of the sources available to teach this course is carried out and is exemplified by an issue of high concern and interest about the causes of the disappearance of the USSR, the methods and sources to be used in their treatment.
