Abstract

This paper is the result of a pedagogical experience in teaching local history in eleven high schools. Local history uses embedded in the mainstream program of the History of Cuba and was centred on the different levels of student cognitive performances and active role in the teaching learning process. The paper includes a set of learning activities for eleventh graders whish engage students in processing in formation from a variety of bibliographical some. A variety of the theoretical, empirical and mathematical one those were used in order to assess students’ nets in terms of their mastery of local history, and with the purpose of designing and evaluating our proposal of activities. The proposal was submitter to specialist critique, which confirmed its validity and novelty.
