This article addresses a study whose objective is to analyze the relationship between the axiological aspect of distance university teaching and the use of active methodologies. The research, of a qualitative nature, used a narrative approach and applied techniques such as a questionnaire aimed at final year students of the Pedagogy of National and Foreign Languages (PINE) degree at a distance and open university, as well as interviews. to teachers considered memorable by students. The results conclude that there is a close relationship between the axiological aspect, related to the values and ethics of the teacher, and the use of active methodologies. This means that teachers, through their principles and beliefs, seek to promote autonomy and meaningful learning in distance learning students.
