Abstract

Jose Marti’s work has been always subjected to deep analyses from different intellectual and specialists’ since it was conceived. In other way, the production of written texts as a functional component in a language class has always been one of the biggest sources of concern in for teachers and students as it is one of the most difficult communicative skills. The current paper is aimed at analyzing the treatment of different functional styles (publicistic, official, literary, colloquial, and scientific) in the work of our National Hero with the aim of serving as a linguistic model for students, besides deepening into its content. The author of the paper chose José Marti because he was a prolific writer who spontaneously dealt with the different classifications of texts according to their style in his ample work.
