Abstract

At an institution where scientific exchange with other professionals, primarily through participation in scientific events and international contests is required for the education of the future computer engineers, more attention should be paid to the development of written skills in English, since being able to communicate effectively in the written variant is a need imposed by the scientific and technological development. The objective of the present paper, developed through participatory action research and observation techniques, is to describe how a greater participation of students in the development of the written expression can be promoted, taking advantages of the possibilities of the various activities and resources given in the Moodle platform used in the Virtual Learning Environment at the University of Informatics (EVA-ICU), thus contributing to building the students’ learning experience within a collaborative learning environment.
