Abstract

The present article aims at contributing to achieve a health culture reflected in healthier life styles in children, adolescents, youngsters and workers of the National System of Education; it also aims at creating the objective and subjective conditions for people to behave responsibly in health terms, as well as achieving a longer and more productive life. That’s why the school contribution presupposes that the health actions promoted by the NSE not be spontaneous, they should match well- thought strategies that meet the requirements of the society with respect to the educative institutions. This work for the health culture also demands a well- planned promotion of health in the school area and the concretion of the pedagogical aspects that ensure a positive influence in this aspect and a determination of the elements involved in health promotion that should be conceived from the planning and organization stages of the school, to guarantee its development, not as an overload in teachers but as a novel way to lead the activity of both, teachers and students in an effort to bettering the life quality of Cuban adolescents.
