Abstract

The increase in information with various epistemological, ideological, cultural and scientific approaches is based on the development of critical reading in the university. Generally, students entering university education have little development of reading skills, particularly at the level of critical understanding. Faced with this reality, the university must develop critical reading, for which it has to resort to different sources whose positions are not homogeneous in order for students to dialogue, reflect and assume sustained alternatives. In this article, ideas about the critical thinking-critical reading relationship and reading in the university are presented. It is proposed how to focus and develop critical reading in the university in the current context, which has to be aimed to the following directions: scientific-academic texts, reading on the internet, reading Wikipedia and reading mass media.
