Abstract

For the Faculty of Architecture of the Michoacan University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo (FAUM), social development is a goal, through university extension, an inherent value, a principle that applies to a society from which it emanates and should. We will show how, by means of the so-called: Vertical Workshops, today under the globalization named Work Show, this task is achieved, merging architecture-place-inhabitants, knowing its geopolitical environment, its context, placing the scientific formation in a real practice, in where the final product is generated projects that provide solutions to specific demands in urban sectors marginalized from our social context. Sectors those are unfortunately invisible to many looks, including government authorities. The methodology used is collaborative work in teams made up of students of all semesters with the accompaniment of a team of teachers. Another feature of this workshop is that it works in what is called "sudden" ie short-term work for delivery (72 hours). These projects are a living manifestation that can change the state of things that hurt an invisible society, generating an active attitude toward them.
