Abstract

Today science, technology and their interrelationships with society and culture, is a point of discussion in the professional training of Biology-Geography teachers in Pedagogic Universities as social institutions. This article is a reflection from the theoretical point of view on the role of the integrative discipline in the professional training of these teachers and in turn presents a proposal to integrate the essential processes of the university today. In the article, the relationship of such discipline to the social environment is weighted from the point of view of its scientific-labor activity, by structuring in a logical and coherent way the three major processes: education, research and university extension, establishing a close link between academic activities, and research work.
