Abstract

The paper presents the results of the needs assessment carried out of the process of teacher education at the University of Pedagogical Sciences Félix Varela in Villa Clara in 2011, and the actions that are being implemented in the foreign language teacher education program in order to better this process from now on. This paper elaborates on the following idea: the didactic preparation of the future teachers of foreign languages may be improved during the regular course by establishing interdisciplinary relations among general didactics, didactics of foreign language teaching, the language enhancement courses (English and Fr ench) and t he practicum and research component.
