Abstract

This paper addresses a significant problem in the context of the current Cuban reality: Heritage Education; who finds in education an important means for their knowledge, diffusion, and conservation and a also a way to contribute to sustainable development. The previous idea justifies the need for teacher training, in primary schools located in mountainous areas, in Manicaragua, which has an invaluable and diverse natural and cultural heritage. Therefore, a model for teacher preparation is proposed, in order to facilitate its treatment in the pedagogical process. The model is considered viable, pertinent and feasible, since it has made possible the elevation of theoretical and methodological knowledge for the treatment of heritage education in the pedagogical process as  a results of  the teacher training.
