The rescue of cultural traditions from musical education. Experience in a Colombian school institution

This article has the purpose of alerting educators in a general way, among which the family is included, about the importance of educating in the younger generations the sense of belonging and the pride for the autochthonous nature of the nation, which makes its culture a unique and unrepeatable country for its habits, customs, idiosyncrasy, for its music and its history. The ethnic wealth present in the Colombian student body must be taken among the guidelines to elaborate and put into practice in educational institutions, strategies in favor of rescuing the patrimonial values that make up the intangible musical heritage, in which the Bambuco, genre is instituted. in danger of disappearing due to dogmatic educational practices in the teaching-learning process of music, and excessive attachment to foreign genres that enjoy the promotional privilege of centers of media power.
