Didactic preparation of foreign language teachers in undergraduate education

This paper elaborates on the need to conceive the didactic preparation of undergraduate foreign language teacher education in Cuba in terms of didactic competence. The paper suggests how to conduct this process of teacher education by relating coherently the work carried out by the teacher educators from different disciplines, such as Pedagogy, Foreign Language Didactics, Integrated English Practice and Integrated French Practice, as well as the Practicum-research Module. In addition, this process intends to promote transdiciplinary relations and ther types of interdisciplinary relations on the basis of more specific goals.
