Abstract

This study shows the need to train teachers to work in Special School, especially with children diagnose with Down syndrome in Angola. It offers a the critical reflection on this  topic and proposes a pedagogical strategy contextualized to the particularities of this process in the Special School. Its execution required the use of different research methods such as the analytical-synthetic, the historical-logical, the structural systemic, the inductive-deductive, the transition from the abstract to the concrete, as well as interviews, observations and surveys, supported by Descriptive statistical techniques. This  research allowed to diagnose the needs and potential of teachers and propose a pedagogical strategy that articulates methodological, training, mentoring and socialization actions and good practices. Its positive results are evidenced in the teacher's preparation to provide a quality education for all school children with special educational needs with emphasis on those with Down syndrome.
