Abstract

The main causes of the serious environmental situation that faces humanity nowadays are related, in certain degrees, with the hegemonic policies that characterize imperialist potencies, imposing neoliberal globalization which stops underdeveloped and developing countries. The weather change and the global economic crisis, together with the enormous break that sets rich and poor countries apart, are the results of the unsustainable situation that the world is facing nowadays, with unpredictable effects. On the contrary, the fast scientific and technical development in all spheres of human activity, acquires a greater role in the development of the society, the fact that undoubtedly impacts in one way or another the environment and marks a turning point in the purposes of the sustainable development. In this scenery The Scientific and Environmental Education acquire an important role before the challenge of achieving an appropriate education that allows citizens to cope with, and take actions in favor of the environmental protection and care as well as sustainable development. These and other aspects are taken into account in the present article.
