PEDAGOGICAL MODEL FOR COMPETENCES IN THE CONTEXT OF ECUADORIAN HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE 21ST CENTURY

The article presents a brief approach to the historical development model of competences and its repercussion in Latin America. The center of attention of this research is to reflect on the theoretical foundations of the formative process in the context of the Ecuadorian Higher Education, from the perspective of a pedagogical model by competences. This research analyzes the process in the Technical University of Quevedo, describes the conception of the Pedagogical Model for assumed Competences, as well as the philosophical, psychopedagogical and methodological bases of it. Its execution requires the use of different research methods such as analytical-synthetic, historical-logical, structural systemic, inductive-deductive, as well as interviews, observations and analysis of documents, which favor the verification of shortcomings and potentialities. of the object of study. It is also presented the result of the research carried out by the main author of the work, in his doctoral training process, with a materialist dialectical approach where quantitative and qualitative methods are combined. The results are related to the theorists.
