The technologies of information and communication (TIC) are transforming the educational process significantly. They represent a way of facilitating the creation, the processing and dissemination of information and contribute to the development of communication skills between teachers and students. The inclusion of these technologies in education has forced to change the way of teaching and learning; then, teachers now must design strategies of teaching mediated by technology and students must acquire in their formation ways to use and produce with these new media. A study carried out at the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche (UACam), Mexico, showed students are able to handle new information and communication technologies both for their school activities and for their daily activities as well, but teachers have a marked lag in this respect. Faced with this situation and in accordance with the quality standards imposed by evaluators and accrediting agencies that are currently assessed their educational programs, the University has been given the task of training their teachers in the use and inclusion of ICT in their teaching and in promoting the use of these technologies as channels of official communication between administrative teachers and students.
